Jayne A. Dykema was born and raised in Grand Rapids Michigan. She graduated with high honors from Northview High School in 1978, where she was very active in sports and student leadership. She then attended Michigan State University and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Juris Doctor degree, all with honors. After working for the Michigan State Legislature, the Michigan Attorney General's Office, and as a private attorney and medical legal consultant in Lansing, she moved back to her home town and began her current practice in 1988. Jayne has enjoyed practicing many areas of law for over 20 years. Her current passion is family law mediation, because it is so beneficial to families and children suffering from divorce or separation. She also enjoys using her nursing education and the client contact involved in assisting on cases involving personal injury and medical malpractice. Jayne has had extensive experience working with family law matters, including divorce, paternity, separation, non-married couples, child support, custody, parenting time, spousal support, adoption, grandparent visitation, domestic violence, personal protection orders (PPO), guardianships, pre and post nuptial agreements, and transgender, lesbian and gay issues. Jayne has been involved in real estate development throughout her career, both as an attorney and a developer. She has done the legal work to change or create many residential and commercial projects.
